I wanted to let everyone know here that the new faculty advisor for the chapter is Dr. Scott Kaufman. He is a history professor (a good one in my opinion) and has received his tenure. Therefore, he should have ample time to help the chapter. I have included some contact information for him and I am sure he would love some support/guidance from alumni as he is new to the sort of thing.
Here is some of his info:

A few years ago the school had $$$$ available for on campus events. I think you had to get approval from the SGA. We had several parties and BBQ's for the school. This is a good rush tool. You actually pay $ in your tuition for this. You must have it open to everyone on campus and use all resources avail on campus. If FMU cannot supply services or goods you can outsource. You should plan on doing something at the beginning of the semester. We also had some friends that were in a band and paid them to play in the field (there's a pool there now). They were pretty relaxed with the open containers if they were in a cup. Excellent PR because everyone thinks you spent money on them but actually you were just using resources of FMU.
This is a good idea. We did this a few times to help with recruiting while I was president. The school has a no alcohol policy right now though so I Highly doubt they will allow the open container even if it was in a cup. It is excellent PR. In fact I recruited a few recently graduated brothers that way lol!
